Hi,
if this isn’t the first of my posts your’re reeding, you’ll probably know that I am 110% noob ![]()
So I am playing arround with passkeys.
On my PC I am using Bitwarden through the website for managing the content, as well as plugins in Chrome and Brave as my password vault, autofilling websites etc.
What I am now thinking about: Does (a) it work and (b) make sense to set up passkey for Bitwarden itself and maintain / store them in Bitwarden???
So for the Chrome & Brave plugins I don’t believe this makes any sense, because for using passkeys stored in Bitwarden, I have to unlock the plugin. I can’t unlock the plugin with a passkey stored in the unlocked extension - right? ![]()
But would it make sense for the Bitwarden website itself?
Plugin is unlocked, passkey is ready, going to the webpage and instead of the password etc. just hit the button?
By the way: I don’t want to type the monster of master PW again and again, so I really love features like the passwordless stuff from Microsoft.
Bitwarden can work similar, without a password to enter, but just verifing the request on the mobile phone, when working on my PC.
But why do I have to close the session everytime to get this option presented?
Just locking the website or plugin doesn’t show the “use a device” button - is there a request started to fix this?
