I installed Bitwarden to save passwords for a few specific sites.
I don’t really want it to assist or participate in the login process for any site — just want it as a repository for passwords that I can retrieve manually when logging into sites.
I also use KeePass for the same, and redundant, purpose.
Now, whenever I log into any site, Bitwarden tries to insert itself into the login process.
How do I stop this?
thanks
Kevin
@Kevin_Manuele Welcome to the forum!
Okay, if you really want to use it just that way, then the easiest thing would be to not use the browser extension (as it is “integrated” with the browser and one of it’s main purposes is assisting with logins), but the Bitwarden desktop app, as the desktop app is not even capable of “assisting with login processes for any site”.
If you want to stay with the browser extension nevertheless, then : open the Bitwarden extension window → Settings → Auto-fill (and deactivate pretty much everything there, except the last things under “further options”).
Also, deactivate everything here: → Settings → Notifications (so that Bitwarden also doesn’t offer you to store new or update logins)
That should do it, I think.
Desktop app is perfect!
Thanks for prompt response.
