Sharing vault and moving organization items

Good day,

I’m a new Bitwarden user and recently migrated my vault over. I am a premium user as well. My partner and I will be the only ones accessing the vault and previously we did that using only my email address. I see my service allows two users to access the vault.

I moved everything in my vault into an organization and invited my partner to join. I quickly realized that items with attachments can not be moved into an organization, so it’s not ideal because then my partner will not be able to see those items. So now I want to move the items back to the normal vault and delete the organization, and we will simply use one email address to log in as we are used to.

The issue now is I can’t just move the items out of the organization. I understand I have to clone each item, but I have hundreds of logins to clone one by one which will take forever. Is there a faster way to undo what I did? And is there a way to use two user logins with one shared vault that I am maybe missing?

Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure it will work, but you might be able to use the Command-Line Interface (CLI) to help you:

Hi @Slapstick, welcome to the community!

It sounds like you would be best served with a Families organization which would provide you with up to 6 accounts with all of the premium features as well as the ability to share file attachments using your organization as our Terms of Service state that:

Your login may only be used by one person — i.e., a single login may not be shared by multiple people.

If that’s something you’re interested in, our support team could assist you with a conversion from individual Premium accounts to a Families Organization.

If not, and you choose to instead only use one account for yourself with Premium, you could export your organization and then re-import to your individual vault. However, you would still have to manually re-add any attachments.

I hope these options help!
