Save a lot of typing: Allow Logins with Website and without Name - show Website as a Label

My screenshots are from the web interface. But my request refers to web interface and the local app as well.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. A user creates a new item, a login with a website, but without a name.
  2. He tries to save it.

Result:

He get’s an error message. He is asked to enter a name.

Suggestion:

A login with a website and without a name should be accepted.
Always, wenn there’s a website but no name in an item, the domain of the website should be used as a label in the list of items.
Important: The field name remains emty. If a user ever decides to enter a name, he should be free to do that.

Reason:

It saves a lot of typing, when a user is not forced to name a login, when he likes the website as a label.

Example of another password manager:

In the app passwords from apple, the feature I suggested still exists. I think, the feature is very useful.

@Saerdna Welcome to the forum!

Just a tip: If you create your vault login items using the browser extension, then the “Name” field is automatically generated using the website domain.
