macOS 12.7.6 Bitwarden desktop 2026.1.0, had the issue also with 2025.12. Desktop app works fine, but safari extension won’t let me login, it only displays spinning dots. This appeared following a late 2025 update that precisely was supposed to remove this bug. For me it brought it to life. Things tried: uninstalled, reinstalled, update Bitwarden through Mac App Store, removal of all safari extension source folders, cache, etc, rebuilding of launch services, still nothing. I also tried giving full disk access, accessibility and whatnot, to no avail. If someone has a clue, that’s very welcome. Thank you very much
@daifuku74 Welcome to the forum!
Your MacOS version is not supported anymore by Bitwarden, and unfortunately, I think you’re out of luck with this. See also this GitHub issue (including the comments): Safari extension fails to load · Issue #17957 · bitwarden/clients · GitHub
I understand. Thank you very much for your help!
I have the same issue with the Safari Bitwarden extension. Bitwarden is installed through the App Store and was updated just yesterday. Then I rebooted but I still just get the spinning animation
The Bitwarden App works fine (actually, CMD-F doesn’t put the cursor in the search field, but that’s another matter)

@phraupach Welcome to the forum!
I’ve moved your post into a corresponding thread. As you can see above, MacOS 12 / Safari 17 is not supported any longer.
