Safari Extension logs me out when I login to a financial institution

Mac is Sequoia 15.1.1
Safari is Version 18.1.1 (20619.2.8.11.12)
Bitwarden Extension Version: 2024.10.1

Server version: 2024.11.0

When I login certain financial institutions, Bitwarden extension immediately locks. This is a new experience for me starting 3-4 weeks ago. So I have 10 tabs up, I login to a financial institution and the extension immediately shows a lock. My settings are vault timeout on restart. I think this is a bug

@kelly7552 Welcome to the forum!

If you want help with this (or want confirmation that it is a bug), then please post a list of websites where this problem is occurring reproducibly (i.e., each time that you log in to them).

In addition, it would be helpful if you could do the following tests:

  • Attempt to use the Bitwarden browser extension to log in to the problematic websites while using a different browser (and/or a different device).

  • Use a different method to transfer the login credentials into the login form. If you are normally using autofill, then try manually typing or copying & pasting instead. Does the browser extension still lock when you submit the login form?

Thanks! I tested it in Chrome and it did not log the extension out. I carefully copied and pasted it in Safari and the same results, I was logged off each time I logged in. The financial Institution is Wedbush Securities, and this has also happened with Fidelity Investments.

It does sound like a bug specific to Safari. Unfortunately, I cannot test this myself, as I do not have access to a macOS system. Hopefully, someone else will be able to corroborate your observations. Regardless, you may want to consider filing a bug report (“New Issue”) on Github.
