With the Chrome extension, I can right click and it brings up a Bitwarden menu that has an autofill menu.
Items marked as favorites should be available here. I have favorited my personal address and 2 credit cards. It would make it easier to autofill these fields.
Thanks for the suggestion, you might also be interested in using the keyboard shortcut to easily autofill and access any stored TOTP codes.
Ctrl/CMD + Shift + L → Auto-fill, press again to cycle through matching logins
If a login uses the Bitwarden authenticator for TOTPs, using the Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + L will automatically copy your TOTP to your clipboard after auto-filling. All you have to do is Cmd/Ctrl + V to paste!
@bw-admin – When I first read @southerndoc 's feature request, I noted that the use-case described was for credit card and identity items, which unfortunately cannot be autofilled using Ctrl/CMD+Shift+L (or any other keyboard shortcut). This is why I’ve previously proposed implementing a keyboard shortcut for autofilling credit cards and identities. I think that additional ideas for facilitating the use of autofill for card and identity items (such as the one in this thread) should also be considered.
Thanks @bw-admin. I’m familiar with that shortcut, but it doesn’t autofill credit cards. I still would like to suggest a separate favorite tab instead of needing to go through the vault (right click, select favorites, then autofill based on whatever is favorited).
I think just a favorites would do rather than make the list too long. You could favorite your address and it would show up.
I wish there was also a way to change the copy verification code to just paste it (currently you have to copy and then use a separate command to paste the code). Would be better to just select and have it autopaste it.
I’m hoping they implement something besides copy. Copy requires a second step to paste it. I would like to put the cursor where I want something and choose fill instead of copy (and then require me to paste it).
It’s been about six months since I suggested this. This should be a very easy thing to implement. Has the development team given this more consideration? It’s one of the very few things I liked about LastPass. With as many LastPass users who migrated to Bitwarden, I imagine I’m not alone in wanting this feature.
BW team, any further consideration to adding favorites to the main Bitwarden right-click menu? Maybe a limit of 5 would do – allow users to select favorite credit card or two, favorite address, etc.
