The sidebar in the desktop app is severely degraded with unnecessary branding. Not only has it been colored in all dark blue, but the bitwarden logo takes up a huge amount of space. What is the benefit to the user of any of this?
This is a good point. As a new user I also cannot understand why someone made this design?!
Hope it will be solved in the next update. Looks like a design bug.
This must be a specific browser/platform issue. You’re using a Mac, right (based on the dots)? I have it open right now in Chrome on a Debian 13 Linux system and there is no gap at the top of the logo. And I hardly call putting their product logo in a side bar “unnecessary branding.”
The issue is most likely how your browser is rendering the sidebar.
I would. It didn’t used to be there. We already have it saying BITWARDEN in the whole right-side pane, and in the menu bar. I have never experienced any confusion about what application I was in.
And this is the desktop app, not the browser.
@joe.attaboy Welcome to the forum!
In the Desktop app, there is the appearance of a gap, because the UI has a top pane (containing the search bar and account switcher) with the same background color as the side bar:
OK, belay my last, my mistake. I have always used the browser version on my Linux desktop and the Android app on the phone, so I’ve never seen this.
