Remove requirement of password field visibility

More and more apps/sites are being coded in a way that don’t show the password field initially and this forces us to have to copy/paste passwords more often. This is making password management more of chore overall. Can that requirement be removed?

What exactly to you mean by “requirement”?

For example, on the login page login.mailbox.org, my username can be entered with autofill, even though there is no password field. There is no need for copy & paste.

Do you have a source for that “requirement”?

@108foxypanda038 Please clarify your request.

Are you talking about Android or iOS – or both?
Do you have an innocuous example site?

Sorry for the late reply.

I am on Android.

One example is instacart.com

You can see in this screenshot that when I open the keyboard, there are no logins that show up. They normally show up right above the number row.

In this screenshot I used the autofill option from the quick settings and you can see the toast notification at the bottom saying no password fields detected.

I have problems to access that site – probably because I’m located in Europe?!

Though, on Chrome I can autofill – at least the username:

Did you check your settings? E.g. with this “short guide”: [Short Guide / Tips] Autofill on Android

PS: So, to also circle back to your first post, title and request at all: there is no such requirement, that autofill only works when both fields – username/email and password – are present.
