Recommendations for another password vault that I can use to with my BitWarden passwords with automatic syncing or manual export/import

Our company allows us to use personal apps on our company phone. For the last few years I have been using BitWarden. Because of some reasons I don’t know, BitWarden is no longer allowed to be installed on company phones. Other password vaults are allowed – just not BitWarden.

I still use BitWarden on all my personal devices.

So I am trying to come up with a process where I can do a 2 way sync between BitWarden and another password vault that I can install on my company phone.

I know I can import passwords into the iOS Passwords app but it does not import credit card numbers.

I’m wondering if there are other password vaults that are compatible with the BitWarden CSV exports.

No other password manager can help you here, since the “problem” is, that CSV exports of Bitwarden don’t include cards:

See here: Export Vault Data | Bitwarden Help Center

(as you can see by that screenshot, JSON and CSV exports don’t include attachments, items in the trash and Sends at the moment… and CSV exports also don’t include identities and passkeys besides cards…)

2 way sync between competing brands is unlikely to work well. Beyond being a highly manual process, it seems like a great opportunity for data loss and/or duplication.

I would open a ticket with your IT support department asking if they are willing to allow Bitwarden to be installed or if they have a corporate-sponsored password manager that meets your needs and that they can install on your phone for you.

Oh. Doh. I see.

I can install other ones. That’s not the issue. The issue is I use BitWarden in personal and need to find aw ay to “sync” those passwords to my phone. Even if it’s only one-way sync.

I am thinking I may have to write a script for CLI that exports what I want into CSV.

Allow me to rephrase:

It may be inadvertent that Bitwarden is not on their approved list.

No. It’s purposely excluded. Don’t ask me why.
