I’ll take a closer look. Thanks for that.
Even though there are too few item types, I think I’ll give Bitwarden another chance. I hope they improve the recognition of login fields. Automatic insertion of 2FA codes would also be nice.
@Nail1684
I want to integrate SimpleLogin. You have to store an API from SL in BW. Does this apply across all platforms?
I guess you mean if that API “syncs” to all other BW apps you use? Unfortunately not - see this feature request for that: Sync email alias API token across clients
That’s a real shame.
Thanks for your reply.
I have a question about the authenticator. Bitwarden has released its own app. It could be used to replace Authy.
- Is the app truly separate from the password manager?
- Can the added 2FA be synchronized like with Authy?
I would think so. As long as you don’t use the “sync the authenticator app with the Bitwarden account/vault” function, when and if it arrives.
At the moment, AFAIK, there is only an “automatic backup” option with the device’s “backup” option (Google or iCloud) available. (see here: Authenticator FAQs | Bitwarden)
When I click on Register here in the forum,
BW suggests my saved login in every field. 1Password suggests everything correctly and appropriately.
Is this a bug on my site, or is it like this for everyone?
What URIs with which match detection?
For the forum, I now have https://community.bitwarden.com/login
added with “Starts with”, so I don’t see those (login items) autofill suggestions on https://community.bitwarden.com/signup
.
Everything standard.
Question about die Password History.
In 1Password, only the password you copied appears there. With Bitwarden, however, every password that was shown is recorded there. If you click generate, every password appears in the history.
Can I change this?
@Nail1684
Having 1Password enabled can interfere with the proper functioning of Bitwarden’s autofill.
1Password is of course disabled. I’m currently using BW alone.
1Password’s recognition is currently more accurate. But I’d like to give BW a chance.
Well, yes and no, in a way.
The “general generator” stores every generated password and that can’t be changed.
If you go into a login item → View → Edit, then you can use the generator of the password field - or copy a new password into the password field. When you change in “View” mode for the item again and scroll down, then you see a Password history only for that login item. Here, only the passwords that were stored for that login item, are stored.
Okay. But I think the generator itself should only store what has actually been used in the history.
Another question. I don’t have any icons for some saved logins. For example, with Microsoft, the MS logo appears in 1Password. Nothing appears in BW.
What could be causing this?
The URLs are the same.
Is it possible to set a default vault for saving logins?
Are you using collections? – Because if not, there is only one (personal) “vault” in Bitwarden.
And if you are using collections, then… and if I understand your question correctly… then I think this feature request fits in here: Default ownership and default collection/folder when creating new vault item
Thank you.
This proposal is also almost five years old. It will probably never be implemented.
I don’t know that. But “never” would be a really long time not having that… a bit too pessimistic for my taste.
I already know this from 1Password. One of the reasons I left.
