Any ideas why some websites (that support passkeys) are so problematic trying to set them up?
I keep an eye on passkeys.directory for accounts that I have so that I can enable passkey logins.
CVS is one and I have tried on several PCs to make it work, but I could never get past an error indicating that “Passwordless login cannot be created” or something along those lines. That’s on a Linux PC using Brave (yes I turned off Shields and my VPN, no difference).
Anyhow I had a brainstorm to try it on my phone and was able to quickly get it to work. Note, the Bitwarden app didn’t pop up and offer to save a passkey in my vault; instead the Google password manager did. I went ahead and set it up, because a passkey on the phone is better than none in spite of my preference to keep everything in my Bitwarden vault.
