Prevent unexpected password suggestions

So, this just happened about an hour ago.

I was creating a new Outlook-email and during the signup process I precreated the vault-entry for the username and password. When Outlook asked for the password I selected the password given by Bitwarden in the password field. And I tought it had chosen the precreated one. But instead Bitwarden had created a random new password instead and I did not realize that until it was too late.

So the end result is that I am now forever locked out from the newly created email because I cannot give enough information for the Microsoft recovery process to recreate the password. So, I just lost a good email address and had to create another account.

At the very bottom of the “generator” tab, there is a history of passwords that were generated. Perhaps one of them matches up with the time that you created the Outlook account.

Ok, thank you. I was able to find the password. In any case that password generator gets filled up really quickly and is not really accessible without prior knowledge of its purpose.

So even then you should really consider some mechanic for not losing new password in the history accidentally. Maybe reminding that password was already generated recently in the current domain/url. Or trying to find if one was already generated recently by the user itself. And recently could be something like 30 minutes etc.

Glad to hear it worked!

For the record, I am not a bitwarden employee; just a customer.

Okay. :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks for the help anyway, I appreciate it.
