Bitwarden Chrome extension gets in the way when I’m using the command palette
of VSCode, surely, I’m not the only one?
How do I make it not show up only in the command palette
but still do for the actual logins?

The inline autofill menu (which is what you’re seeing) is a new feature in Bitwarden (released 10 months ago), and has some rough edges. It is not currently possible to disable the menu for only specific input fields.
What I would suggest is to go to Settings > Autofill, and change the selection for the option “Show autofill menu on form fields” — you have two alternative options:
Set the selection to “When autofill icon is selected”. You will still see the Bitwarden shield icon in each input field, but the inline menu will not appear (unless you click the icon).
Set the selection to “Off”. You will no longer be able to use the inline autofill menus for logins, but the menus are not needed for autofilling (there are 5 alternative methods available for autofilling — the best method is using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+L; the specific key combination to use can be customized, and there are 4 other autofilling techniques available that do not involve keyboard shortcuts at all).
