Hello, I have a question about my vault.
I deleted my account on my computer, but I still have access to my vault on my phone. Even after recreating a new account with the same email address (and therefore an empty vault), I still have access to my old safe on my phone even though my account has been deleted and recreated. Why is this ?
Is your phone connected to the internet?
Every app installation gets a locally cached copy of the encrypted vault database when it logs in; the cache persists while the app remains logged in, and is purged only when the app logs out.
When you delete an account, the Bitwarden server deletes all of the vault data that are stored in the cloud, and it de-authorizes all currently logged in apps; when an app subsequently attempts to sync with the cloud, it will discover that its login session has been de-authorized, as a result of which it will log itself out and purge the locally stored cache (for that app only).
If a device does not have an internet connection, it will be unable to communicate with Bitwarden’s servers, and therefore the local cache will persist even if the login session was de-authorized. The fix is to just manually log out of the Bitwarden apps on any device that is not connected to the internet.
Yes my phone is connected to the internet.
In settings of the app the synchronization is up to date and I clear cache of the app in phone settings and I still have the vault.
Just log out of your mobile app. I believe it is under Settings > Account . Logout.
