Passkey popup loads very slow

Passkeys are cool, but the popup that opens when you add a new passkey or when you log in via passkey is super slow, sometimes a few seconds

Any idea why ?

I’ve noticed that too. I don’t know if has to be this way for some technical reason, but it definitely feels quite slow.

I can’t see a difference between websites.
There are two lags

  1. From the moment you click on a login button on any passkeys supported website until the BW popup appears
  2. FRom the moment the BW popup appears until the actual entry is found

The first one is more noticable

Same here. The 1Password browser extension is nearly instant when it comes to loading the passkey popup. I’m currently using Bitwarden Passkeys only as backup for my accounts, primarily using my Chrome profile because the Bitwarden passkey experience not great (because of the long loading times).

ditto with me too, both on Chrome and Edge, all up to date, and on different websites (e.g. Google, Github).

MacBook Air m2 here, safari passkey pop is really slow but on the same site with chrome it seems to fly (might be luck)
