Hello,
I have set up my Yubikey(s) for passkey login and encryption. In the last few days I noticed that the icon looks different from when I first set it up. It has a star on the lock which looks different.
It now looks like:
Just curious, does this still mean my passkey is being used for encruption? I imagine everything is fine (I can login and view my items fine), but wondering if it ‘means’ something else?
In a recent release, Bitwarden updated the fonts and icons used in their UI. So your passkey should work as before (with encryption enabled), it’s just that the UI appearance has changed.
If you can use the Yubikey to log in to the Web Vault without being prompted for your master password, then that is the proof of the pudding — for any passkeys that do not have encryption enabled, you would be required to enter your master password after authenticating with a passkey.
Thanks for the clarification, grb. I had noticed the same change in the icon recently and was wondering if it indicated something different about how encryption was working. Good to know it’s just a UI update and the functionality hasn’t changed.
