I have trouble remembering the names of people and products alike, and often can’t actually remember the name of something to search for it (or go log into it, which is probably why I’m looking for it) until I see it in a list. Therefore, I organize my logins into categories and subcategories, so I can quickly find things when I need them.
The new UI seems to assume that nobody is using folders and everyone is just searching in a giant unorganized list, but this really doesn’t work for me.
I almost never use the search bar in Bitwarden, or in anything else where I’m able to organize the content myself. The old UI with a button to bring up the search only when I actually needed it was better.
I do often browse for logins. The old UI with big full-width folders that I could click on once to get into was perfect. The new UI only gives me a little dropdown, and to navigate into a folder with any subfolders, I have to click on it once, then click again on “view items in (folder name)” which is tedious and annoying.
Plus, the folder and type filter dropdowns are often randomly hidden when I open the extension popup, which adds yet another click to re-show them.
