I am using the password manager on Android 11 and this is happening on multiple sites.
I am logging into a site which has already been saved in BW. Unfortunately, it does not autofill the ID. So, I have to manually enter it. Then, when I click in the password field (and only upon clicking on the password field), I see the Bitwarden login panel appearing above the keyboard - but it is greyed out! No amount of clicking on it will enter the credentials into the password field. This is irritating and very frustrating, really being counterproductive in even using a password manager!
In the Settings | Autofill screen, all options are checked. So, what am I missing? I did not have this issues with Lastpass, which was always quick on the draw as soon as the login window appeared. It does work like a dream on Windows 10.
TIA.
Typically, when BW appears over the keyboard, it will be blue, and clicking on it will go to the BW lock screen, where I have the opportunity to unlock it. I have never had the BW icon âgrayed outâ on me. I donât know what the problem is, but I would try:
- Uninstall and reinstall
- Your phone may have specific troubleshooting instructions from BW (below), phones including Huawei, Honor, Oppo, âand othersâ.
- I would enable Accessibility and disable all battery optimizations on the BW app. Also more details in the link.
- If the icon still isnât blue, Iâd try the BW accessibility tile from the Quick action panel.
- If none of the above works, and if nobody else offers an idea, contact BW support.
Try clicking on the username field, and if that doesnât make the Bitwarden icon appear, then click on the password field. Sometimes you have to âtickleâ it that way to wake it up (back and forth a bit to get it to pop up). This happens on another password manager that I use, also.
