I was recently perusing the release notes for the recently-released Bitwarden Web v2026.5.0, when I saw a couple of curious pull requests demonstrating a significant expansion of vault item types – specifically Driver’s License, Passport, and Bank Account.
The underlying code is visible in the following GitHub PRs:

Given how heavily requested structured templates have been over the years, I’m surprised there hasn’t been any public discussion or announcement about this yet (that I’ve seen). I still only see the original four core item types, plus SSH Key, in my own vault (web and extension).
I assume the code is currently deployed but sitting behind a server-side feature flag for a progressive rollout. Has anyone else seen these new types show up in their accounts yet, or does anyone have insight into the rollout timeline?
