New Extension UI: Autofill and save on matched credentials

I have a lot of work credentials, so currently I get 10+ matches on work domains.

I want to save the exact hostnames on them, ideally to get the correct one first on Ctrl-Shift-L (I’m not sure if that is taken into account), but also that I can later change the matching mode to reduce the number of matches.

With the new UI, I don’t see a way to “Fill and save” for the credentials that match the site (it is there if I search for non-matching credentials)

Am I missing the option or has it been removed with the new UI?

@MoHaG Welcome to the forum!

I think it is missing for now… But I don’t completely understand why it would be needed, as auto-fill suggestions are only shown for URI’s that are already saved. So “Fill and save” would save a URI, that already is saved. (that’s probably the reason, “Fill and save” was removed for the auto-fill suggestions)

I’m trying to add all the hosts for a password, that I can change the matching mode on the passwords from “base domain” to “host”. (since bsae domain matches more than 10 passwords for work servers (that are all under the same base domain)

I’m also hoping that if the correct URL is added, that Ctrl-Shift-L starts with the correct credential, instead of cycling through and guessing which one is correct… (which is currently the case (there are a few with the same username and different passwords) (I Don’t know if the extension actually looks at that though…)

Yeah, nothing against that… you can do that manually (adding URIs and setting a separate matching mechanism for each URI, different from the “default matching”).

@MoHaG, Welcome to the community!

Is this what you mean? In this non-sensical example, I would be filling my google creds into the community’s login, but the same concept applies to things like amazon.com and amazon.de, where one may actually want to use the same creds.

That uses the search though…

More a case where have entries saved for:
server1.domain.com
server2.domain.com
server3.domain.com
server4.domain.com
server10.domain.com

When I go to server5.domain.com, all those get suggested. I want to be able to save server5.domain.com easliy as an additional hostname for server1.domain.com if it shares credentials with it.

That allows me to at a later stage change the matching modes to hostname (from domain) on all of these and only get one suggestion on any of these… (more a case of 10 sets of credentials for 500 or so hostnames though…)

And it might fill server1.domain.com’s credentials first, instead of going though 10 options 1-by-1 on Ctrl-Shift-L if server5.domain.com’s URL is also saved against that credential… (I have not verified if the extension has that feature though…) (to use the best match first if there are multiple matches) (this is what I mainly want - new servers keep being added, so changing the matching mode makes filling a manual process always on any new hostnames)

In this case below, there is no “Fill and save” option, to mark the specific credential as the preferred one between all the matches.

… and store the community’s website (URL) in that Google login item…

@MoHaG I think I get what you mean… but again, as long as that “Fill and save” for auto-fill suggestions isn’t there… you can set up multiple URIs with separate matching detection right now manually in the “edit item” mode:

(just click “+ Add website”, what is cut off in my screenshot, to add more URIs)

You are not dependend on “Fill and save” for what you want to do… just edit the items manually - URIs/URLs and the desired match detection - right away…

And: If you had many new login items, that have a similar setup like existing ones, you might profite from using the “Clone” function of those (similar) items.
