Missing Favicons

Hey folks, new user to BitWarden here as I’ve finally decided to step up both my security, and backup strategies. So far all is good and I’ve managed to add all my most important accounts to BitWarden. However there is one website entry I’ve made that doesn’t have a favicon showing up. That’s [Redacted] the crypto exchange. All of my other website entries populated their favicons but [Redacted]. Not exactly a deal breaker but it sure does mess with my OCD! Is there any way to get that favicon to populate for [Redacted]? A different URL or something? Cheers!

@Solo6R Welcome to the forum!

We’ve been getting a lot of spam on the forum lately, so I had to redact your post in case this was some attempt at marketing to drive traffic to the crypto site that you had mentioned.

However, giving you the benefit of the doubt, you can set the the URI1 field to https://[Redacted].zendesk.com and set the URI2 field to https://www.[Redacted].com (or whatever you have in URI1 currently).

Next, unless you are in the Web Vault, you’ll have to click the :gear: gear icon to he right of the URI1 field (the Zendesk URL), which will reveal a dropdown menu (in the Web Vault, the dropdown menu is already visible by default, with the label “Match Detection”). Change the dropdown selection to “Never”, and then click the Save button in the upper right corner.

Doing the above should give you a favicon for this vault entry. Unfortunately, the drawback is that the “Launch” button in the Bitwarden apps will no longer work properly for this item (because the “Launch” function always opens the URL stored in URI1).

I’ll give this a shot, thanks. And no, I’m not spamming or marketing anything, hah. Cheers.

This worked perfectly! My OCD personally thanks you!! :slight_smile:

P.S. I didn’t have to change the match detection to Never.

No you don’t have to, but doing so will eliminate the risk that your crypto site login credentials will be leaked to the Zendesk site (or to an advertiser or tracking service hosted by the Zendesk site).

Oh I see what you’re saying. Alright, I’ll go ahead and do that as well. Thank you again kindly. This is great!
