Bonjour.
Cordialement
Hello.
I had installed Bitwarden on my PC and my iPhone. Unfortunately, I can’t find the master password, and on my PC, Bitwarden is now unusable. On my iPhone, I can still use it because I can open it with Face ID. Is there any way to recover the master password?
Sincerely
@simipi Welcome to the forum!
No, for security reasons, there is no method for recovering the master password.
You should start copying your credentials from your iPhone, because you will need to register for a new Bitwarden account and start over.
If you have a browser extension where you have previously logged in, you may able to use the “Login with Device” option to log in to the browser extension. From there, it may be possible to create a vault export by using some JavaScript code manipulations in the Developer’s Tools console to bypass the master password requirement. This would be faster than manually copying each vault item.
If you let me know whether you are able to log in to a browser extension using the “Login with Device” method, I can try to provide additional assistance. If so, please let me know which browser you are using.
I understand the principle perfectly. Regarding my iPhone, which I still have access to, is there no way to recover this password?
No, if you don’t have your master password somewhere – like on your emergency sheet(s) – then it’s not recoverable. There also is no “secret backdoor” or something like that.
Hello, in order to recreate my account, how can I delete the old one? I followed this URL, but I’m not receiving an email.
https://vault.bitwarden.com/#/recover-delete (or https://vault.bitwarden.eu/#/recover-delete)
Are you sure you’re using the correct email address, without any typos, and on the correct Bitwarden server region (US/.com v. EU/.eu)?
Were you able to export your vault data from the old account? It is recommended to use JSON for the export format (or ZIP, if you have stored any file attachments to your Bitwarden vault); if you elect to encrypt your export, it is essential to choose the “Password Protected” option (because the “Account Restricted” option cannot be imported into a new account).
I was able to recover my passwords using the JSON backup I had made.

… to avoid that “trap”, it really would be helpful if “password protected” would be the default option… (–> feature request: Make "password protected" the default / predefined choice for "encrypted JSON exports")
je vous remercie tous pour votre aide et suggestions.
