To clarify, your proposal is that the label for the “Social Security Number” field be displayed using a localized variant, is that correct?

And should the locale be specified using a local preference setting in the Bitwarden app/extension, or using a synced setting, or using the locale configured in the operating system?

Or maybe it would be simpler to change the string from “Social Security Number” to “National Identifier”.

I believe in simplicity. I would have it default to the locale from the operating system, and then allow someone to override the locale in settings.

Just like SSN resonates with Americans, SIN resonates with Canadians.
In other postings people have mentioned a National Identifier. It makes sense, however I think that defaulting to the actual value for the locale woutld be more intuitive.

I am not the sharpest lightbulb in the sea, so I was confused by the term National Identifier when booking a ferry ride from Argentina to Uruguay :slight_smile:
