Little Snitch reports **many** connections (> 45) on Mac desktop client

I just installed from the App Store, and opened the Mac desktop client for the first time. After authenticating, I used Little Snitch to check what connections it was making, and was shocked to see ~ 47 of them!

I shut it down and uninstalled, as this sure does not seem right…? Can anyone confirm whether this is normal or not? Here are the screenshots:

Second one in reply, only allowed one image

Do you have “Settings >> Appearance >> Show website icons” enabled?

If that is the default, then yes. However, even if that is the case (which is a good thought, thanks), look at the domains listed in the screenshots: I only have credentials for 3 of them.

Given how (fav)icons are found, I can certainly accept that some of these might be due to http redirects, but this seems extreme.

I just used dig to lookup ninetailed.co, and did not get a valid result, so…? Yes, this could all be a bug in Little Snitch, but that seems unlikely.

Could you show what the screenshots look like after you disable website icons?

I understand the idea, but… My vault was/is already populated with icons, and I did nothing but open it in this app. Most of those domains/connections made no sense, and caused major red flags for me (40+ year software engineer). So on the off chance that this binary is infected, I don’t plan to re-install.

I can afford to be paranoid here as I was only curious about the desktop app, I’m happy with the other clients.

Thank you for the thought though!
