Hi, I have a family organization with several members. I wish to add a member that is already using a free Bitwarden account with some stored log-ins. If they accept an invitation does their free account become part of the organization and does it retain their already saved items? And, if for whatever reason they decide in the future return to using a free / individual account, would they be able to do that and retain their personal vault items? Thanks

Yes, they retain their saved items in their “My Vault”, and they are also upgraded to get access to Premium benefits.
Yes, if they leave the organization (or are removed from the organization by you), they retain all items that they have stored in their “My Vault”; they will only lose access to shared items stored in the family’s organization vault. In addition, they will lose their Premium benefits, which means that if they uploaded any file attachments to vault items stored in their “My Vault”, then they will no longer be able to download or access those files (without first upgrading to an individual Premium subscription).
The other premium benefits they would currently lose include TOTP code generation (although their TOTP secrets are still accessible) and any premium reports. Beware also that Bitwarden may be implementing additional premium features that they might also lose.
