IPad option „unlock with biometrics“ is missing

A few days ago „Touch ID“ is not working anymore. Looks like Bitwarden App was updated in the background. Currently it´s 2023.9.1. iPad is running iOS 16.7, browser is Safari. I have to enter master password for every login. Not usable right now.

The option „unlock with biometrics“ is missing in the settings but was there before.

Is the dev team aware of this problem?

I have BW 2023.9.1 on iPad OS 17.0.3
I have the setting “Unlock with Touch ID”, I set timeout action to lock after 15 minutes and it works as expected for me.

Also I believe it only updates through the Apple app store which is a manual user initiated process (at least with my setup).

Your answer shows me it should work on iPad. I did now an update to iOS 17.0.3 and the option „unlock with touch id „ is back! If update is through app store I wonder why this feature suddenly stopped working. More strangely the option in settings was gone.

Anyway it‘s working now. Thanks for your help.

Btw: Bitwarden setting in ios has a toggle switch for background update which is enabled on my ipad. Maybe on your ipad it‘s off?

I can only think you mean the “Background App Refresh” setting in iOS, that allows the app to check for new content (i.e. sync the vault). I don’t think it will do an app update.

You are right, this makes sense. Then I still don’t know what suddenly changed bitwarden behaviour.
