Hello, I am self-hosting bitwarden and its been working a treat for many years now. A few weeks ago I noticed that my iPhone (15 Pro) was no longer syncing. When i manually try to sync it fails. I then checked on my iPad and it also fails.
I did some searching and many people suggested to log out and back in, but i have done this multiple times and the issue persists.
I have also done some testing and i notice that if i create a new item on my iphone that item does sync to my vault and i can then see it in a web browser, or in a browser extension on my mac.
What is also weird is that my wifes iPhone (11) doesnt seem to have the issue, she can complete the sync no issues!
Has anyone got any help they can give me here? Im still facing issues. I have tried to export my account and import it back into a brand new one and the same issue keeps occurring.
Hello @wranglatang, welcome to the forum although I do not have any immediate joy for you. Firstly, I do not use self-hosting for Bitwarden. Secondly, the different behaviours between phones strongly suggest phone configuration as the issue. It may even be WiFi connectivity, a DNS or a certificates issue. I am making no suggestions, just saying there are many potential issues, particularly given it worked for you before. What in the environment changed? Are they all running the same iOS version (as they can)?
I have an iPhone 13 Pro and an iPad Mini 5 both running iOS 17.4.1. They both sync updates that I make in a Windows browser extension. Both of the iOS devices are running Bitwarden 2024.4.2.
When you sync a change made on your iPhone does that cause the iPhone to sync those changes that you made on your other devices back your your iPhone? Or are you suggesting that your syncs are only happening in one direction – from your iPhone to your other devices?

Syncs only seem to be happening in one direction! If i create an item on my phone it will appear in my browser. If i then update that item in my browser, the update wont show up on my phone.

Bitwarden Server does not have a version 1.30.5, so it seems that you may be using Vaultwarden.
Vaultwarden is not a Bitwarden product, so there are going to be compatibility issues between the server and the Bitwarden client apps from time to time. Your best bet is to turn to the Vaultwarden community for support:
