Hi.
Steps to reproduce:
- iOS 18
- Installation of the BW app
- Activation of “autofill” like described in the help section
- Open Safari
- Test of autofill on a webpage, where a login exists in BW
Result: I get a suggestion, that a login exists and is available. Everything is fine with “autofill”
- Open a website for which no login exists in BW
- Open the login page of that website
- Enter the login
Result: No suggestions appears in safari to offer to add that login to the vault.
Expected Result: Get an offer to add the login to the vault.
How can I achieve this, please?
Thanks.
@Saerdna As my mobile app is on Android and still the “old” mobile app, I’m not exactly sure it is still same/similar with the new native mobile app on iOS, but:
There should be an option in the Bitwarden mobile app:
“Settings” → Auto-fill → “Ask to add login” or something like that (must be turned ON for what you want to do)
But aside from that: usually it is recommended to do it the other way round: add a login in Bitwarden (with username, generated password etc.) and then to create the new account with that data. That is usually seen as more realiable, though I don’t know how the other method works on iOS.
Thanks for your answer.
In “Settings” → Auto-fill" there’s noch option like “ask to add login” or anything comparable.
Is there any iOS User out there who can try it? That would bei great : )
@Nail8257
I just get an answer from the BW support.
At the moment there’s no way be “asked to add a login to the vault” in safari at iOS.
That’s strong restriction in my view. I hope it will be eliminated soon : )
