Since iOS 18 (and iOS26 too) I’m also encountering this problem:
The username/password only shows after clicking the empty fields. It only happens with Chrome, not with Firefox or Safari.
Any idea?
Can anyone confirm or replicate this please?
@sammyke007 Unfortunately I’m not on iOS, so I can’t test that. – If you think it’s a bug, you could report it on GitHub (“New issue”).

It seems, you are using an unofficial server software, which is not supported by Bitwarden, as it is an independent product. From time to time, there will be compatibility issues between the official Bitwarden client apps (browser extension, mobile app, desktop app…) and an unofficial server product, when Bitwarden implements changes to its own server software and/or client apps. “…Bitwarden cannot guarantee that official clients will work perfectly with non-official servers.”
(Also due to this - and for other reasons - we recommend using the official Bitwarden server software.)
It is generally not possible for members of the Bitwarden community (users or developers) to help with such issues - and with issues of the unofficial server itself. Please seek support in their community spaces.
If you can replicate your issue on an official Bitwarden server, feel free to open a new thread here.

Re-opened, as there seems to be further evidence it’s also an issue on a Bitwarden server. (thanks to @Gerardv514)

The issue is reproducible using Bitwarden server as well.
It appears the root cause of this issue is the iOS chrome browser app, if you set the address bar to bottom it breaks autofill to the point where you have to manually tap onto the empty field for autofill to finally fill.
Setting the address bar back to top quickly fixes this problem and can be toggled where resolve and break follows.
The issue was again reported to BW via GitHub [PM-30400] Fields need a manual tap to enter credentials only in Chrome · Issue #2233 · bitwarden/ios · GitHub and they have stated this was reproduced. It has now been flagged to their engineering team for a resolution
