Inclusion in the official F-Droid repository, Asking for confirmation

Hi Bitwarden Community and Staff,

this is leso-kn, reaching out from the F-Droid Gitlab Community. We’re currently working on a set of patches to allow Bitwarden Password Manager for Android to be included in the official f-droid.org repository (fdroid!19550).

As per the F-Droid Inclusion Policy we would like to ask for your confirmation as the original app authors, whether you would be okay with having the Bitwarden Password Manager app included in the official F-Droid repository?

Should you have any questions about the port, please feel free to ask them here!

Kind regards,
leso-kn

Port Status

Hi there, and sorry for the delay! Yes, that is okay with the Bitwarden team, thanks for checking in!

Hi  Thanks for the reply and thank you for the confirmation! We’ll go ahead and continue then! Looking forward to seeing Bitwarden on F-Droid soon hopefully! Kind regards, leso-kn

@leso-kn Just out of curiosity: do you plan to do the same with the Bitwarden authenticator app?

@Nail1684 Hey  At the moment we’re just porting the password manager, but the authenticator is built similarly, so a port should be feasible in the future

For anyone popping into this post, let us know if an F-Droid version of authenticator is of interest to you, even without automated backups. :+1:

Hello, new guy here, (hello, hi, nice to meet you all), lol, and I had a quick question. So, the Fdroid, Bitwarden repository is @ this link: New App: com.x8bit.bitwarden (!19550) · Merge requests · F-Droid / Data · GitLab

The reason I ask is I noticed that’s a Github link, is that where the official repository will be maintained? Thanks in advance.
