Improved Sorting Options for Multiple Entries per Website

1. Description:
Currently, Bitwarden sorts saved entries for a website based on the “last used = at the top” principle. While this sorting method may be sufficient for most users, it becomes problematic when multiple accounts for the same website are saved — such as for personal and business purposes. In such cases, the entry order can become inefficient, requiring users to search for a specific login that may not have been used recently. Improved organization of entries would significantly enhance the user experience.

2. Specific Suggestion:
I suggest that Bitwarden be equipped with advanced sorting and filtering features that allow for a more personalized and user-friendly management of entries. Possible options could include:

  • Alphabetical Sorting: A simple option to display all entries for a website in alphabetical order, making it easier to search and locate the desired login.
  • Manual Sorting: A feature that allows users to rearrange entries according to their preference, placing frequently used or preferred logins at the top.
  • Sorting by Creation Date: This option would allow users to sort entries by the date they were created, which can be useful when older entries are needed regularly.
  • Favorites Feature: Users could mark preferred logins as favorites, ensuring these are always displayed at the top, regardless of usage frequency.
  • Sorting by Usage Frequency: An additional option that orders entries based on how often they are used, ensuring the most frequently accessed logins are easily accessible.

3. Benefits:
These additional features would make managing multiple logins for the same website much easier and significantly improve the user experience. With custom sorting and practical filtering, users could quickly and efficiently organize their data without having to scroll through long lists. This would save time and make the overall experience much more pleasant, especially for those who have multiple accounts for a website for personal or business reasons. Ultimately, it would lead to better organization, time savings, and a more seamless experience using Bitwarden.
