Hello!
I self-host Bitwarden and attempted to import my vaults from 1Password in .1pux format.
A smaller vault was imported without any issues.
However, importing a larger vault results in an import error: Cannot read propoerties of null (reading ‘0’).
I have tried several times, and I noticed that a different number of passwords are imported each time, which I find intriguing.
I searched for the error message and have ruled out an HTTPS connection issue as the cause.
Since I remembered that a first test import to an “organization” did not fail, I tried importing the same file not to MyVault but to an organization.
And guess what? It worked.
Super weird.
Edit: It only looks like it worked. In fact, it created several duplicates and in some cases failed to import password name and user name correctly.
There are only 1545 passwords in the vault that I tried to import, not 2750.
Looks like the duplication issue has been around for a while:
- 1password 8 to Bitwarden data export
- https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitwarden/comments/z22eji/issues_migrating_from_1password/
Well, I guess I will stick with 1password a little longer.
Reported issues:
- duplicates
- vaults are not converted to folders
I guess I will try again in two years.
Bitwarden seems to have so much potential, but moving over from 1password seems to be really tricky.
