I have a number of shared entries from my (very!) elderly parents to deal with certain logins, such as banking at various banks. However, when using the various apps on my own phone, my entry is either never the default one chosen by BitWarden, or BitWarden cannot even find an entry for that particular app.
How do I forcibly associate a specific login to a specific on-phone app? I make use of only one phone, on one platform, so there will be no cross-platform sharing of my login (specifically) to a different phone.
This can also help with a number of different apps I prefer to log out of when closing them – BitWarden simply cannot seem to find the desired entry for these apps, and I don’t know how to modify the entry so that it can.
These instructions only prompt the correct entry to come up after I put in the PIN, it does not auto-prompt with the correct entry above the keyboard before I put in the pin, so a subsequent selection does not have to be made.
MAybe I’ve misunderstood what you mean, but it seems that you are talking about unlocking your vault (with a PIN). For security, all vault data (including the URIs) are encrypted (i.e., unreadable) when the vault is locked. Therefore, it is impossible for the Bitwarden app to determine if your vault contains a matching login item if the vault is locked.
If you unlock your vault, then the URI matching functionality should work to bring up the relevant login items for autofilling.
The point is, I shouldn’t have to select anything after the pin.
When clicking on a password field, the keyboard comes up. When properly configured, the band across the top of the keyboard displays the suggested credentials, albeit partially censored. I should be able to put in the PIN, hit submit, and without having to do anything else, those credentials should fill the password fields.
Currently, with specific apps I have to go one step further, and actually select a credential.
I know the first works because I have several apps that have multiple accounts, and my primary account is always the one being suggested in the band along the top of the keyboard. So I can tap that, enter the pin, and do absolutely nothing else to auto-fill.
However, for other apps like the banking apps, it always either suggests my parent’s credentials (which I DO NOT want to use except in a screaming emergency), or it doesn’t display any credentials at all - I HAVE to fully log in with my pin in order to select a credential.
Please instruct me on how to have the desired credential auto-suggest across the top of the keyboard.
The details of the iOS app are beyond my personal expertise. Hopefully another forum participant who has experience with the iOS app will step in to assist.
Other than that, I can not help either. I never had an iPhone in my life… But, I must say, I have a hunch, that what you desire, may not be possible - or rather something sounds a bit odd. (but again, I don’t know by heart, how the iOS app behaves)
PS: This is a community forum - and I would say, it is also “timing” or luck, if somebody can hop in and provide help or not. You can try to contact support, if nothing helps.
