When Bitwarden chrome extension is unlocked, how is the data stored locally? Is it encrypted when it is unlocked, even locally?

Additionally, on my android phone, when the app is locked, how is the data encrypted? As I can access the data offline, I am wondering if it is secured

The documentation states where the vault is store:

The vault is encrypted, so you cannot just read it. The encryption is different than say Chrome where password can be decrypted using your local windows account. You need the key from Bitwarden to do it.
