How do I enable fingerprint unlock on Android?

Today I installed Bitwarden on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and unlock by fingerprint is still not possible.
Even small KeePass applications for Android (like KeePassDX or KeePass2Android) have this feature.

Hi Oliver, it is possible as I have that same device with Android 9 and it works great. Have you enabled it in Bitwarden Settings?

I have enabled biometry, but here only “Face unlock” is available.
No fingerprint (what I would prefer).
Is there any setting that I have missed?

@OLLI_S I believe that the device defaults to whichever biometric method you’re using (hence the ‘enable biometrics’ option instead of specifying Face Unlock or Fingerprint unlock.

If you’re using face unlock for the rest of your authentication, that is what Bitwarden would use also.

Is Biometric unlocking not working at all?

The original topic was to allow to unlock the web-vault with a finger print on my phone
The problem I have posted some days ago is about unlocking the Android App with a finger Print.

So @tgreer (or maybe @vachan) can you please move my posting that I posted 7 days ago and all following topics to a new topic and call it “Unlock Android Vault with finger print”.

I just want to clarify about biometric support on Android - we currently do support both fingerprint and face unlock for Android apps.

I may have missed something - if so please let me know and I can move/delete posts if needed.

The original topic was to allow to unlock the web-vault on my PC with a finger print on my phone
So when the web-vault on my PC is locked, I can unlock it via the biometrical unlock on my phone (instead of having to enter my master password manually.

The problem I have posted some days ago is about unlocking the Android App with a finger Print.
And this problem is totally different, it is nothing about the web vault on my PC.
So, please split the ttopics.
