Hello !

I still have access to bitwarden on my ios. I have reset my mac and I cannot find my master pass… What can I do ?

The hint does not help

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover or reset your master password if you have forgotten it, as emphatically stated by Bitwarden when you created your account. Your best option right now would be to manually go through every item in your vault and record your logins and passwords while you still have access.

Long shot here, but perhaps did you set any emergency contact if you happen to be a premium subscriber?

This is a premium feature, and would have needed to be set up in the webvault prior with another Bitwarden user set as a trusted contact. If in the off-chance this might be the case then your trusted contact would be able to initiate an account takeover.

If you’re still logged in, I think creating an export is the easiest solution. Then just create a new account in which you import your existing export.

Unfortunately an export requires you to know the master password as well, unless possibly using a session ID from within the bw-cli

@cksapp i would say just ensure your mobile device ensure the lockout is set to never.

settings > vault timeout > never

but the only way around I thought of requires you to sign into the web version to create a free organization and share it with a new bitwarden user email and pw you set up however in order to accept it you need to be logged into the web version I believe.

outside of that if you are using ios, I wouldn’t like it but I would just go and head and setup a new bitwarden and pw and save your bitwarden master pw inside the vault and setup a emergency access if you can, next just create entries in the new password vault and if you can just copy from your ios to even a mac dekstop/laptop to save it in the new password vault. i figured even if ever exported a backup file of the password manger and restored if you forgotten your master password its safe to just assume you wont get that back unless its saved somewhere or you just happen to remember it.
