On many sites there’s no option to “view” the password. I use bitwarden for many things including saving sever logins etc.
I’m sure I’m missing something obvious but unless bitwarden creates a new entry for the site or updates the existing one automatically I’ve been unable to find a way to actually access the generated password.
So I create a new account and let bitwarden fill in the generated password and then create and when I go to log back in I don’t know what the password is. I’ve tried clicking on the value, checking my clipboard, right clicking. Nothing appears to give access to the password any clicks just replace with a new password.
This makes this functionality essentially unusuable unless the input has the ability to show the password.
I recently went to change the password and Bitwarden filling in a newly genrated password. I accepted the password but I have no idea where it went. There was no login created in Bitwarden. Why doesn’t Bitwarden pop-up a new login screen and allow you to fill in additional details? Am I doing this wrong?
@A-Human I moved your post into an existing topic.
FYI, this is a known bug (Issue #13258), which is being addressed (PR #14110). In the meantime, a method for retrieving the generated password is described above.
