Does the free bitwarden features fully work fully or are the features in the free version in a limited function

HI I was wanting to ask a question about features in the bitwarden free account.

I was wanting to now if I have the free version of Bitwarden do I only get to use limited free features in Bitwarden free version. The reason I am asking this is because the password manager i am using has a free account and it says in the free version that I am using the free features in a limited form.

As I had mentioned in my response to your other post, unlike other password managers, Bitwarden’s free version allows you to store an unlimited number of passwords on an unlimited number of devices. All of Bitwarden’s core functions are available to users of the free version, in their full (unlimited) form, except as noted below.

There are certain advanced features that are only available to Premium subscribers. These include:

  • Additional 2FA methods (DUO and Yubico OTP).
  • An integrated TOTP Authenticator App within Bitwarden.
  • The ability to upload files to your vault.
  • The ability to use the secure Send feature with files (the free option can only Send text).
  • The ability to configure the Emergency Access feature.
  • Additional vault health reports (the free option can only run the Data Breach Report for usernames).

In addition, Premium subscribers get prioritized support.

HI i would like to now is are the features in the free version fully functional all the time in the free version. I only ask this because a previous password manager i did use had a free account and in the free version the features are in limited mode.

You’ve asked the same thing twice, and I’m not sure how to answer you any differently than what I did in my response above.

A few specialized features are “limited”. For example, Premium subscribers can choose 5 different 2FA methods for their Bitwarden account, but Free users can only choose 3 different methods. Or when using Bitwarden’s secure “Send” function, Premium users can send files, but Free users can only send text. When running Vault Health Reports, Premium users can run 6 different reports, but Free users only have one type of report available to run.

However, when it comes to the core functionalities of the password manager (e.g., securely storing login credentials, synchronizing vault contents across multiple devices, and auto-filling login credentials or information such as credit card data or addresses), there is no difference between the Free version and the Premium version.
