Dock icon unusual display behavior

I honestly don’t know how to describe this behavior so the best I can do is show it in a clip.This started happening only after the recent app update to version 2026.6.0 (64148).

Hey there, just to double check, have you tried removing and reinstalling? Are there multiple versions currently installed?

@bjchecket Welcome to the forum!

Did you already try to restart your system? (there was a similar report a few days ago where this helped resolve it)

Howdy. Good question and I should’ve included that in my question. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Also rebooted twice. Thanks!

On windows every time it updates prompted by an in app upgrade prompt I end up having to unpin the old Bitwarden icon and then repin the new. Never had an application other than Bitwarden require this. If you don’t then you get multiple icons.

@bjchecket Are you using the DuckDuckGo browser integration by any chance?

oooh. Yes. I am!

Then this might be something you could try as well:

That’s an excellent suggestion. Though I’ve disabled and reenabled the integration a few times, restarted both DuckDuckGo and Bitwarden a few times, and rebooted. Still occurring. But I did notice this behavior as I was running various experiments.

@bjchecket I hit my limits here as I’m not a MacOS user. I think I would recommend to contact BW support for further guidance.

If you have the impression this could be a bug then you could also consider opening a bug report about it on GitHub (“New issue”).

@Nail1684 I really appreciate your efforts!
