Hi, I want to try out passkeys for the first time but when I try it I cant create any passkey, it just shows “no passkey found for this application” there’s no “plus” button to create like some tutorial videos shows and the domain is not on the excluded domains list.
Do I need a real usb thingy to get it work?
Isn’t that just private/public key, can’t Bitwarden just store that?
You need to create the passkey during your interaction with the website. I.e., go to the website, log in using UN/PW then go into your account/security settings (on the website) and see if there is an option to use Passkeys. If there is then initiate that and Bitwarden should step in and offer to save it in your Bitwarden vault.
You can’t just create a passkey ‘ahead of time’ like you can with passwords.

Which website is this for?
Typically, each website has its own procedure for creating a passkey, as well as its own procedure for authenticating using a passkey. In addition, the passkey implementation on some websites is not compatible with Bitwarden.
Thus, we cannot give general advice/instructions without knowing more about what website you are trying to set up passkeys for.
