I noticed that the auto-fill icon on input fields doesn’t show up on desktop.
When I open the browser extension, all of a sudden the icon finally appears on the input fields.
Is that the expected behavior? Doesn’t it defeat the purpose of the auto-fill popup feature if I have to click on the extension and then on the input icon?
I’m using the lastest version of Chrome on a Mac, so my setup is pretty normal.
Using Chrome on Windows, I’ve noticed this type of behavior mainly right after I’ve changed the settings for the “Show auto-fill menu on form fields” option. Sometimes the change doesn’t seem to “take” until after I open the extension pop-up.
In your case, does the behavior persist?
On my windows tower the icon seems to show up correctly all the time but on my MacBook, this behavior still persists even after rebooting the whole thing and closing Chrome.
Maybe it’ll sort itself out in the following days?
I’ll keep an eye on it.
This is a known bug, and a fix for this issue should be coming out in the next extension release.
