Credit number not in groups of 4 digits

Hi,
two credit/debit numbers (VISA) are not grouped in 4 digits (Bitwarden MacOS, newest version, but I see it for a loooong time).
Looks exactly like this: 1234_123_1_12_12_1_123 ( _ is the space between)
When hiding it is also not correct: ●●●●_●●●●_●●●●_●●●●_●●● (the last part has only three dots; _ is the space between).
How to fix it?
Greetings,
Claus

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “two credit/debit numbers (VISA) are not grouped in 4 digits”? Do you mean two entries of yours? Or two numbers of the corresponding card numbers?

Did you enter those numbers with or without spaces?

Anyway, if you can reproduce that, best thing to get this fixed is to report this as an “inconsistency” (to the other BW apps) on GitHub: https://github.com/bitwarden/clients/issues

Edit the card item, and check whether the saved card number has been stored with space characters manually inserted between each group of four numbers. If that is the case, delete the space characters, and save the item.

@grb : It seems that this works. I deleted the number, saved/made a synch, and pasted the number. Now I see the number in groups of 4 digits. Thank you!

@Nail1684 : Like the number are on your credit card, e.g. 1234 5678 9012 3456.
In my case I always saw the number in this way 1234 567 8 90 12 3 456.

I noticed the same issue myself in a test account, but I cannot recall whether I had myself manually inserted the space characters into the credit card number at some point, or whether this is something that was done by the extension in an update. Also, I don’t know whether previous releases of the browser extension used to ignore any spaces that may have been entered manually in the data field (but used spaces when displaying card numbers). All I know is that I recently noticed the mis-formatted credit card number, and I’m 90% sure that it didn’t look like that previously.

Although the issue is easy enough to fix, I’m wondering if there actually is (or was) a bug here.

@grb : Same here - sure that I entered the number correct, not sure why/when it changed - and easy to fix (almost too easy). Well, I keep an eye on it.
Just to delete the space characters did not fix it (I tried it long time ago). But deleting and pasting the whole number worked now.

@grb : I just saw that in Bitwarden iOS shows the number without space characters: 1234567890123456. Would be nice to add the space characters (automatically) here also → 1234 5678 9012 3456

There is an active feature request here:

There is a bug report about that, too (for the Android app, though… I hope they also check the iOS app…):

I wanted to let you know that I’ve flagged that this is behavior is also occurring for iOS users in our internal board for our engineering team to review.
