Cost of upgrading to family plan for three people

I’ve been happily using Bitwarden as my primary password manager for years now, self-hosting with a Premium account.

I’d like to set the two other members of my household up, as they’re seeking new password managers, and I’d like to use an organization to make it easier for us to share passwords.

Am I correct in understanding that to do this:

  • Each new member would need to sign up for a $10/year premium account (TOTP is an essential feature, so free tier won’t work)
  • I would need to upgrade from Premium to Family, so that I can have an organization with three users in it instead of just two

…or is there a more economical path that I’m missing? I’m really quite happy with the service in general, but this would be 6x the price.

You must pay only for one Family Subscription. The other must have only a free Account.
After you Subscribed to a Family Plan, just invite and verify them. From then on everyone will have the premium features.

So the other members’ free accounts will get premium features by being part of an organization that’s subscribed to a family plan?

That’s correct.
