On Chrome OS, the bit warden extension works pretty well except that there is no fingerprint reader integration. Will this be a feature that will be added later or is this even possible?
I did some more research. Right now, it does not appear that Chrome OS opens the fingerprint reader to third party. This mean if you have a fingerprint reader on your chromebook, you can’t access the fingerprint as an app. Only the OS can do this at the moment. This mean you cannot write a fingerprint unlock for Bitwarden.
In addition, you cannot add external usb fingerprint reader. Google has stated that there is no way to validate the device. Technically, they should be able to to this through the work with Chrome program.
