I am not able to download the browser extension on chrome.
The message says it ist blocked by my organization (I am on a private, not policy-driven standard pc).
The message keeps the same even when disabling safe-browsing.
So Bitwarden is unusable for me and my family when nobody is able to install the extension without doing tough interventions in the operating system or the browser management.
Has anybody else those errors?
OS Windows 11, Chrome 120.0.6099.130
Hi @Mabuse - that seems like a really odd experience. I’d recommend checking your Settings > Privacy and Security and see if anything odd comes up there.
As a note, the URL does not appear to be identical to the one present on
the downloads page: Install and Sync All of Your Devices | Bitwarden, but I’m not sure if it’s different because it is taking you to the German language store. Are you clicking on the Chrome extension option directly from that page and still receiving the error?
If yes, I suspect there’s something going on with your Chrome installation. 
As I told, the settings had been set even to “no protection” and I visited the Chrome web store via your link.
So I decided to delete my whole “C:\Users.…\AppData\Local\Google” folder and to re-initialize my Chrome.
Now I can install the extension as it should be.

I am also having this same issue but this fix/workaround didn’t work for me. I logged out of my account/removed that folder and relaunched and logged into chrome with my google account. After that I tried to install the extension and it just spins there and never completes. Also forgot to mention chrome has been updated to it latest version.
It’s just spinning for me too.
Seems like this must be a new issue, if it happened for both of us at the same time.
I’m using Chrome on an Intel Macbook Pro, MacOS 14.5.
I think the 2024.5.1 for Chrome only just dropped. Maybe someone should file a bug report?
It just worked for me this morning so I am not sure what was going on. Browser or backend issues with the extensions for Chrome.
