Chome extension does no longer sync

Hi,
I have an iPhone, MacBook, iPad and a Mac. Since 2 days the bitwarden extension on my Mac does no longer sync.
I get either “syncing failed” or when I try to manually update an item “the cypher you are updating…”
The other 3 devices sync within seconds.
Chrome is up to date and so are the apps. Switching the Mac off and on again did not help.

Completely log out of the extension (Settings > Log out > Yes), then log back in.
