Can't use autofill because of the message Biometric unlock for autofill disabled pending verification of master password

Made an account to report the same issue is happening to me.
On iPadOS 15, pin works like a charm but Face ID biometrics don’t work that well along with Bitwarden… at least without requesting every single time the master password (reporting it to be wrong).
I guess I’ll stick with the pin for now but would like to see this working flawlessly like on Android devices, it’s a joy to use the fingerprint reader there to unlock Bitwarden on autofills.
And for the record, yes, I did try the steps suggested here and at other message boards.

Hopping in here to note that I’ve experienced this issue again after setting up Bitwarden on my new iPhone. I experienced this back when I had an iPhone 11, then a 12, now a 13. It’s been three iterations and the problem is so consistent, that at least now I know there’s a workaround.

Bitwarden is by far the best password manager out there. I pay for the Premium account even though the free version is pretty fully featured. This is extremely frustrating though. It’s completely unclear to users as to why this is failing. It seems like it should just work, because there isn’t any obvious declaration that it wouldn’t, which makes it seem like a bug. A longstanding, very frustrating bug.

Steps to workaround this issue, for anyone who stumbles across this thread later on:

  1. Log into the Bitwarden iOS app
  2. Enable biometrics within Bitwarden iOS app (do not enable pin lock yet!)
  3. Enable autofill for Bitwarden in Settings
  4. Open an app or site to sign in with Bitwarden and enter master password as prompted
  5. Open Bitwarden iOS app and enable PIN
  6. Attempt to use autofill with biometrics again, it should work now.

This is really working, thank you so much!

Good day, I have followed all these steps, and I can’t get this to work. Any ideas anyone, or do I need to remove the app, and start from scratch?

Having just experienced this issue for the first time, and trying literally every suggestion on this thread including the “solution”, the only thing that worked for me was logging in via the web vault and changing the Argon2 settings back to defaults then logging back into the Bitwarden app on my iPhone and re-enabling Autofill and FaceID:

  • Memory 64MB
  • Iterations 3
  • Parallelism 4

So, if all else fails, try that.

Same here. I had to change my KDF settings to something lower. Honestly I didnt really know what I was doing because I was watching this Youtube guy telling me hw to make it harder to crack. Works fine on my Macbook and my android phone but on my 2018 ipad air, it couldent do it because it was running out of memory. So I went back to the browser extension, changed it to something lower, restarted all the aps, and did the biometric process again and now its working! Yay!
