Can't Save Passkey with AliExpress.com

When you try to create a passkey on AliExpress.com when you have Bitwarden set as your default password manager, the site just says “Unable to set passkey. Please try again.”

I thought there was something wrong with my account there and admittedly, their support is less than useless, but they kept saying there was nothing wrong. Then I noticed some others online mentioning a similar issue. It seems something about how this site tries to store passkeys doesn’t work with Bitwarden’s current implementation of them.

Has anyone else run into this or maybe found a way around it? I’m hoping if others have run into it and can mention it, it might get the team’s attention to fix yet another bug that’s crept in.

### Steps To Reproduce 1. Go to Aliexpress Desktop website a.k.a www.aliexpress….com 2. Log in 3. On the navbar, in the account menu, click Settings 4. Click on 'Set Passkey' ### Expected Result The Bitwarden Passkey registration flow should proceed as usual. ### Actual Result The passkey registration fails right away. The UI shows a generic error message but, fortunately, the AliExpress code logs the credentialsResponse to the console. ``` { "success": false, "error": { "message": "'rp.id' cannot be used with the current origin" } } ``` ### Screenshots or Videos _No response_ ### Additional Context I think this happens because AliExpress attempts to register the passkey for `m.aliexpress.com` while on the `www` site. Always good to know this here on the Community Forum also - but bugs are tracked on GitHub. So everyone who experiences this also, should (at least also) join that GitHub issue.

I did chime in there too, but I find a lot of people might not know that bugs are tracked on a different site, so I figured I’d point it out for them to chime in. But yeah, I should have linked to the bug as well. Will do in future.

Just chiming in to say I got the prompt and was able to add an AliExpress passkey to my Bitwarden on iOS this morning. iPhone 17 - idk why it says 18,3 below.

still doesn’t work in the android app aswell. It just shows an error.

and there seem to be no progress here aswell as of right now.

I’m still unable to add passkeys from AliExpress, on my desktop browser Brave I get the error that it was unable to set passkey, on my Pixel phone it appears to work but it doesn’t save it into Bitwarden. Both desktop and phone are using 2025.12.0

Other sites have had no issues adding or reading any passkeys.

@Ferd I just created an AliExpress account for testing this (and to be honest, the whole site feels half-baked). I experienced the same as you. It neither worked on desktop nor on my Android phone, just as you wrote it.
