I just got a new iPad and i can login to Bitwarden on Safari. But on the app it keeps telling me my password and/or username is wrong. Anybody have this issue? I am logged in on my Mac mini and on my Pixel 8. Thanks
@luciano991 Welcome to the forum!
On the first login page of the iOS app, have you confirmed that the server selection is correct (bitwarden.com
vs. bitwarden.eu
)?
@luciano991 Hi!
If the right server region, as @grb wrote, didn’t solve it for you already, then also try to deactivate “smart punctuation” on your iPad, as that can alter the input when you type in your master password.
Shoutout to Nail1684 and grb.
Many thanks for this reply. I also tried the logitech keyboard that came with my Logitech Folio and that didn’t work either. However, I think you’re on the right track or at least you have me on the right track. It seems logical that the password is just not being typed correctly by the equipment. In the meantime, I installed Nord on the iPad and it’s working fine. Thought it might be good to have my password vault in two locations. Keeping them synced will be an issue but I’ll handle it.
Happy New Year,
Mark
Could you please clarify whether your successful login on Safari is also on your new iPad (as opposed to your Mac mini)?
There is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to use the Bitwarden mobile app on your iPad, and taking some time to troubleshoot the issue would be advisable (as maintaining two completely different password manager products will be a pain, with credentials getting out of sync).
I completely agree. Trying to get Bitwarden to work on my iPad is something I haven’t given up on but it’s a back burner issue at the moment. I appreciate the help and support more than you know. The one thing I haven’t tried is checking the settings for autocomplete on both the iPad on screen keyboard and my Logitech Folio. Once I have done that I will try again to login to Bitwarden. I’ll let you know how it works out. Thanks again and Happy New Year.
